Nespresso, fun in San Francisco!

(This post has been updated and is permitted publicly from last year's shoot.)  Last year, I did a commercial photo shoot for Nespresso. I have never drank that many shots of espresso in one day and I was so hyper the whole time when we were shooting photos inside Nespresso boutique San Francisco. "Overly joyous" is probably the best word to describe me that day. Well, in fact, not only because of the espresso I had from the whole morning, but also the fun charisma inside Nespresso boutique that made me super ecstatic. Everything displayed in the boutique is so neat and chic including colorful and various coffee capsules, and pretty cups, mugs and saucers...etc. If it weren't because I was sort of working, I would have bought me some cute espresso shot glasses home already. Wait, I almost forgot to mention that they also serve full range of dessert and some savories along with fancy coffee drinks in the upper, street level. The store intends to ply their customers w

Kendra Thornton Fashion Challenge!!!

It's Friiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiday and finally I have a break from my hectic schedule to update my blog.  I was contacted by the travel expert  Kendra Thornton  to participate in her upcoming "Trip to Miami" challenge. The Challenge is that Kendra asked me to create a wardrobe for her trip to South Beach, where she’s going to be vacationing with her husband. How romantic~  Ok, here is a little bio of her.  Kendra is a mother of three. She is a well known travel expert and has been featured on several news channels and shows such as Tyra Banks and Nate Berkus.  She wants to look chic, comfortable yet trendy while travel and I believe the looks I created for her is going to make everyone turn head for her. Best yet, I picked one dress from  Roland Mouret for her. Ooh la la~~~  Here is the email and style requests from Kendra.  I haven't been able to spend time along with my hubby for awhile. We are always going places for work or with the kids. It's going

Jeans over Jeans!

I am loving that little kitten flats so much and I like the name of it: Sun kissed kitten . Lovely, isn't it!? I was actually in a hunt for a summer white denim jeans but got this pin stripped from Madewell instead. Anyhow, the jeans is comfy and a perfect fit on me. A structured blazer always makes the whole look put-together, besides, I love red and blue together....  J Crew denim shirt, Madewell stripped jeans, Charlotte Olympia flats, Hermes Constance, J Crew necklace, Joseph red blazer.  Summer love, love summer~  xoxo Rachel

The Best Gluten-free Zucchini with Smoked Gouda Savory Scones.

Again, it is time for more scones. This time I found a generic gluten-free recipe online and I made it into both sweet and savory scones of my twisted version. They are moist inside and crunchy on crust outside.  I am quite happy with the taste and here I share with y'all. I keep the sugar in my savory scones as I don't think coconut palm sugar is that sweet  neither does it compromise the sensation of savory scones.  Here  I want to credit the original recipe to Glutenfreelove (http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/member/views/BEST-EVER-GLUTEN-FREE-SCONES-50121233) Thanks you for this awesome inspiration.  A prefect Sunday Brunch Scone.  My twisted recipe where i sub. 2 eggs with egg white only, sugar with Coconut palm sugar and milk with almond milk, butter with coconut oil. So basically, this is a lactose-free, gluten-free and casein-free scone. My friend, Isabel , suggested to sub. eggs with apple sauce for its moist so you can avoid egg as well.  I have yet to t

No Jeans; Slacks, Please!

I love casual trousers, they are comfortable and they are chic. I wear slacks more often than jeans for some reason and personally I think trousers are more versatile than jeans in terms of the different looks you are projecting for.  Play with the proportion, volume on your tops and you will be surprised that how charming you can be in a pair of laid-back pants.  pic. internet   pic. internet  pic. internet  bcbg generation bra top, Kenrikvibskov oversized jacket with zipper pull in front, Karla Spetic hot pink pants  Have a great weekend.  xoxo Rachel

Man-repeller!!

As promised, my man-repeller look. Not sure if this also falls into the category of a fashion stereotype??? Season's hottest trend, prints!  Except those pieces are all from past season which might self justify that I am not a chaser of trends blindly.  Even though I have all the past season pieces here, they look quite fresh altogether, right?? Oh, other than a comment from my "male" friend on FB: He thoughts the look is  a blast from the past!!! lol..  Now that I take a second look of it, it actually quite fun. Not so bad, eh??? Well, we do self expressive through our looks, our attitudes, and once you have the right attitude toward things,  anything goes your way eventually. Agree???   Think positive, love yourself, and keep it up!  Karen Walker cape, Karla Spetic yellow shirt, Clover Crayon printed pants, Opening Ceremony platform ivory cork heels.  Enjoy your mid week!! xoxo Rachel
