Not Your Typical Week Night of Silicone Valley.

Being back at Bay Area is nice but a party held in Neiman Marcus with bubbles, wine, and whisky-tasting is even better. It's a Gentry magazine 25-year-anniversary party. Guess who was on their November issue cover in 2017? Me! What an honor! Upon arrival, the yellow rug and two matching pillar-shaped sidetables instantly uplift my mood. I certainly favor the pop of yellow over red or black cliche settings. The McLaren 570s by the entrance definitely shouts LUXURIOUS EVENT at you. What a wonderful way to spend a Wednesday night, isn't it?! I cheered internally but acted nonchalant while cruising in. I was not really present for the event itself but to check out an Italian jewelry collection- Miseno. You can see how meticulously hand-carved cameo by the sculpture is. The jewelry designer is drawing some potential ring and pendant designs on the spot with Prismacolor markers as well. All the fun is rolled into one place!

While browsing, trying on jewelry, and chatting away with the Miseno company owner, I learnt that he is from Naples, Italy. At that moment, I instantly wanted to scream in excitement which I probably did but I can't quite recall now. I gathered all the intel from him and squared away the stereotypical impressions about Naples and southern Italy on the Internet. Hopping between hotels is exhausting when traveling with family. Now not only do I have a reliable insider guide about Naples, Sorrento, Salerno and Amalfi coast, but also a solid plan for hotel stays. Just chill while I am on it!

Thanks for Antonio's enthusiastic recommendations of traveling in Naples and beyond that almost makes me feel I'm almost a local. :)

What caught my eyes from Miseno's collections is their double layered loop design and especially the pink sapphire. Check them out in the store when you are in Neiman Marcus.

ThanksGiving Holidays w/ Yu's Family!! (to be finished later)

Day 1 (11/26/09) Get up at 5:30 AM and meet up w/ Yu's family at 6:00 AM. I brought total 3 dress w/ me. I just don't want the hassle of paring my clothes this trip. Kids are all so excited and I can't believe they would be so awake that early. You know, they always make so loud noise in the car and I wish we had those sound-proof glass in between front seats and the back seats!!! ha~ Finally we got LA around 12:30 PM. This 85ºC bakery Cafe has the most delicious bread/bakery in Cal. (See the people lined up there. We were there 3 days and the place is always packed.) DH also likes their pearl milk tea!! Dinner at May Garden! (I think this restaurant is nice but not that extraordinary on setting and the whole environment.) Very refreshing tomatoes salad! This butter saute lobster dish is way too expensive IMO, even though they made noodles for an extra dish after you almost done w/ the lobster! Not bad, but I'd think they...
