Friendship and Fashion!

My daughter's classmates have been asking so many times about play-dates but it is seems not likely to arrange it during the weekdays! The weekend and birthday parties are the only chance to let our kids socialize w/ their school buddies.  While kids slowly establish their little friendship w/ their school buddies, friends from parent's circles, we moms also need to manage and expand our own social lives. However, i t is so hard to synchronize our moms' free time during the week, even though kids all go to school.  We still need to drive them in between extra-curriculum activities after school, let alone we all have our own set of schedules/rules/routines/work-out.... ^^   There must be millions birthday stars in January since there are at least 6 big and little friends of mine included. And we decided to do a little breakfast birthday celebration for them.  Wherever there is women, there is fashion and beauty talk!!! ^^ Funny thing is that we start talking...

Bottom: Vera Wang Lavender label pleat skirt 3. Accessory: Max Co. leather belt DKNY brown socks Bottega Veneta bag (messenger style w/ Louis Vuitton leather straps) 4. Shoes: Costume National oxford All the looks are from traveling in London and Italy.  Have fun on the weekend. xoxo Rachel

Maxi or Full skirt...Layer them!

I layer 2011  Vince Solid Knit Dress  on top of past season  Rick Owen Lilies  baby blue green mock neck maxi dress today!! I find it almost sluggish without layering on something or styled w/ some other accessories. Kenneth Cole wide asymmetric bet, Rick owen dress, Vince dress, 10' Pierre Hardy two tone sandal platform heels, Givenchy Tinhan studded hobo. I always tend to dig out my forever pieces in my closet during this time of the year and basically, they are maxi dresses, turtlenecks, tanks and leather jackets. And I found this transitioning season before spring comes is the best time to wear your not-so-favored-clothes.  Not ready for the spring yet!! The authentic Chloe boots. Ah, want to share this MOCK shoes from  Dillards  that my friend, Pei, found on line. They all loved Chloe ones but this one looks 99.5% identical for only $99.99.  Have a soothing evening! (^_−)−☆ xoxo Rachel

Let the Rumpus Begin!!

It is always hard to stick w/ one or two tends every new season. For me, it is a matter of flattering or not whenever I put on an ensemble. I am very blessed having long legs and good proportion so it won't be a disaster if the whole look is not so flattering. (^_−)−☆ But then I know, I'd avoid buying or even trying on those no-no clothes!!...... You can't have it all anyway, can you!!? One of the most expensive fashion bible I ever bought. (DH always think they are junks.... :P ) Some busy~  Some neutral and so soothing~ Cant' wait to find something like those~~ My old wooden platform Jil Sander pair will keep me company until ~~  Two outfits that doesn't seem outdated at all.... w/ a splash of neon color and retro style!! neon orange tank, AA (American Apparel cropped tee), J Crew military belt, Marni gabardine cropped pants, Alexander McQueen squared toe heels, Chloe orange Sally. (All past season) Neon Orange st. John vintage...

Adapted!!

We are back from Lake Tahoe ski trip. Kids and all of us had a great time and the best parts is that I finally can maneuver the snowboard freely!! Yeah~ I even went on blue lane/route w/o fear!! I am glad that we have this long weekend to rest and glad that we went to Lake Tahoe earlier than everybody else. The traffic is pretty bad on Sat. morning when we drove home! Make a note to myself: Don't go skiing on the long weekend if we don't have to.  Rent kids' ski equipments in advance so they can still have fun w/o attending ski camp.  Bring a nanny/sitter if there are more than 4 kids and when everyone wants to go skiing instead of watching kids. ^O^  Wear as many protection pads as possible when go skiing or snowboarding.  I wore helmet, wrist protector, knee pads and even bought a butt pad when practicing snowboarding!! (Just so you are not afraid of fall and thus learn as quickly as possible. lol) Kids had their make-up piano lesson this morning. Ah, should ...
