Think Your Look Younger in 10 Years Philosophy!!

A lot of friends said that they'd wish they had the same confidence and wisdom when they were in their twenties. Who doesn't... including me!! (just to be clear w/ you, we are talking about women/moms in their 30s here!! Well, same thing apply to when you are 40s, 50s... ^O^)

The truth is you can THINK your way back and feel/look younger 10 years even when you can't turn back time.

What will you do differently when you have your first child in your early twenties?

You probably are reluctant be so settled that you still want to have fun. Enjoy yourself and be adventurous!!  Go scuba-diving, sky-diving, try new sports, visit different countries, or learn cooking and knitting just to be prepared prior to be a stay-home-mom or wife. ^^ I am sure there are lots of things you want to try when you are in your twenties but you didn't. Now you can think positively and constructively for yourself and why not do it NOW

Ah, except for the fact that you have to think of a better way to do it w/ or w/o your child around. You know you can find a nanny who earns your thrust.... oh,, don't tell me it is hard to let-go or find a trust-worthy nanny. Think you are 20s again, and now cooperate with your smartER-thinking, horned bargaining skills, you might be able to find a good nanny w/ a great hour-rate!!

To tell you the truth, I am executing this Think your life back in 10 years Philosophy  myself. I am learning snowboarding every year after I reach my 30s while my first attempt is dated back when I was 26. So I almost started snowboarding only couple years ago. My private tennis coach comments that "not many women would learn new sports especially "snowboarding" after becoming a mom".

Huh? What does he mean? A compliment for me, as a matter of fact!! ^^

Yeah, again, i am learning tennis w/ my son. He actually plays better than I do since I just started while he already can rally w/ the coach. See, I am thinking in my 20s here that i'd never had the chance to play tennis and now I do.  Therefore, I go for it!!

I will also start my acting class next Sunday!! A lot of friends ask me "WHY?" Do I want to be an actress or start a new career?

Hm...... not really, but I never say NO WAY!! I never think of the fact that the chances of a 30 something Asia woman who becomes a successful actress in USA is almost "impossible".  What can I lose here, right?   On the contrary, I expand my social circle and I get to meet younger friends ( you know the youngest classmate in my previous acting class is only 18 years old.) and best of all, I can learn the English language itself in acting class.
Acting is another thing that I should have tried when I were in my 20s but I choose the realistic path... study abroad for my Master degree here. ^^

Now I have my family, my life, my kids and my friends,...... I almost had everything I wanted. What's missing here is just couple life experiences that I'd love to catch up!!
(Of course, do everything responsively.)

So, moms, oh, women, think your way back 10 years from now on!  Go do things for yourself, enjoy yourself and your life back no matter you are married or not, a stay-home mom or a career women with or without children.

....Ah, forgot to emphasize one more thing..... exercise!!! ^O^

Hope you get my point!!

Those pictures are taken when I am with my negative 1000 eyesight ...basically, I look wherever Cathy's direction. haha~~ ( I have my nearsighted eye-glasses in my hand.)

Didn't I say you can never risk too much details with monochromatic outfit!!

1. Top:
striped fitted dress underneath

2. Bottom:
(Vintage find) BCBG crochet wrap made into a tube dress/skirt

3. Shoes:
Alain lima buckle wedge boots

4. Accessory:
brass necklace w/ spear n' crystal bought in London
Monogramed charm necklace
Givenchy Tinhan studded hobo

Yet another season's hot trend....striped on everything!

I should start my new wardrobe shopping after done so much fun of finding treasure in my closet. :)

Think your life back in 10 years!

Refuse to be Colorful!!

Ok,  unless I find an ensemble which doesn't seem to be a runway or street-way copy-cat, I'd give up the take on colorful path!! ^O^ I will leave those bright Pink + Purple, bright Orange, yellow.... combo. for everyone else to strut.

Neutral, beige, black and gold colors seem to be an easy combination to dress myself up these days or simply wear them monochromatically!!

Reclaimed silver, sapphire, mink fur earrings.

(No, I'd never wear my hair band OUT...only in the shower... ^^)

Maybe I can give a face-lift for my tassel earrings...... to be like......
(see below)

It seems the VINTAGE take-on reaches its peak in this season!!

IT is time for some new home-furnishing.... Johnathan Adler

The top and button is either ruched or draped and both asymmetrical which can never be a boring look!

Ann Demuleumleester draw-string buckle pants

You'd never risk too much details for wearing monochromatic ensemble.

Ps. to answer a fellow blog reader's question:
How to cook bean curd and pork stir fir?
Cut bean curd as the thinnest stripes as possible which you will appreciate the fineness look and well-absorbent taste when you seasoning everything w/ soy sauce, chopped garlic, green onion, sesame oil, white pepper and little splash of cooking wine.

Think RED for Valentine!

Cropped Jackets - A Classic!!

A cropped jacket is always in trend.

Today is DAY 1 that I can't wear contact lens doing my chores. Not too bad except I hate the heavy eye glasses frame hanging on my nose..... which leave my nose two red inks. ><

Thanks to Cathy that she came along to take photos for me when I am clumpy and silly w/ my glasses on.

Mcginn (past season) cropped tuxedo jacket w/ vest insert.
Couple details keep your look fresh and in trend even when you are wearing past season clothes!

Wherever I go w/ this Proenza Shouler cap toe platform heels, there is always complimets goes on the shoes.

I can't focus on the camera w/o wearing my contact lens...... but I guess the camera focuses on me just fine!!

What a great weather we have in California compared to the cruel snow in the east coast!!
Count it a blessing!

Have a great evening.

Thank me Later-For a Gorgeous You Forever!!!

I am trying out this product currently and it is amazing!!! (Well, everything is pretty much true as stated above so .... what's next!!?
Go, no, run to Sephora to grab yourself one!!!

I think some companies still make turkey bacon purely from Turkey thigh Read the ingredients carefully. However, I guess you can eat real pig bacon guilt-free now!! ^^

Hope you learn something new everyday for your inner and outer beauty!!

While I browse through some runway shows for 2011, I discovered those cute vintage-y look of thing. Would it be a polyester quilted-like vest, cropped jacket of YSL, or the military-green ruched cap(puff)-sleeve jacket from Burberry Prorsum, you sure should steal this look now!!

(After alternation)
Remember my Millard Fillmore modern sports wear?!! ^^

I am not lazy if you are wondering how come I didn't post my outfit of the day!! The fact is I probably can't wear my contact lens as long as I wish during these two weeks and post freely when I really need my lens to function well. I have a very poor eye-vision (-1000 degree for both eyes) and I will go through "Lasik" (to correct my eye vision) on Feb. 8th (if everything goes smoothly).  The doctor suggests that I should let my eyes rest for at least 2 weeks w/o wearing contact lens. You know, I won't be as acute as when I wore contact lens with my normal eye-glasses. I probably could be clumpy ....... :P

But good news is I will share as much thoughts/daily read as possible with you!! Or better, I can start doing my day-and-night skin regime posts too. ^^ Also, I can promise you that I am not doing Batox secretly... just yet!! haha.....

Local event - Chanel Spring 2011 Trunk Show this Thursday and Friday at Neiman Marcus Stanford Shopping Center!!

I will be there, how about you!!? ^^
Stay Tuned!

Walk Around Work-out!

Whenever I am lazy, I put on black or black n' white ensemble! It was last Sunday that Irene and us family get together again for a walk around "work-out". Well, that work-out is dedicated to our kids so they can enjoy biking along the lake.
.. ...

Hold the thoughts, at the end, it is us, adults, carrying their bikes and holding them doing all the walks!! Come to think about it, not bad at all ~~ at least we get to burn more calories, work-out our calves and build up cardio. strength even for the non-exerciser Irene. ^^

Irene: Lululemon letter thermal, AA cape, Juicy Contour cropped legging, sneakers
Me: BCBG long picket tee w/ lace trim, Limedrop cloudy shrug, KristenseN Du Nord sheer legging, Proenza Shoulder PS1 clutch, Converse sneakers.

I have had 3 tennis lessons so far but need more senses of a good timing to catch the ball w/ a perfect "sound".  You know, the sound you strike the ball out clear and loud " boah~"! Yeah, I care about that very much!! ^^  But you know what, I enjoy the time learning tennis w/ my son, Niel, very much as well. We each have 30 mins private lessons and I get to see closely and attentively on his progress!! I love the quality time being w/ each child from time to time!

Take on w/ the vintage trend...full skirt.

On Monday
Accessory: Owl ring, J Crew Vintage green glass cuff.

One of these days we are going to have a home pizza dinner night!!

PhotobucketThe Valentine's Day is around the corner, have you think of something simple for your significant the other yet?

Now I have a completed first name initial letter charm necklace for all my family.

Have a good afternoon.

Let Nordstrom (Valley Fair) Styling Event to Refresh Your 2011 Wardrobe!

It was a lovely Sat. afternoon that Irene's family came over to my house for lunch and later on they stayed for dinner as well. In fact, we felt that it is better to let our husbands and kids all to have a play date together while we two girls go to Nordstrom at Valley Fair's Styling Event. As a result, I volunteered to cook for them in order to minimize all the hassles. Not that I am an excellent cook or anything, it is just my believe that a down-home cooking is always an economical and healthier choice. Besides, we have the best toys, Wii, Ipad games at home and even school playgrounds right next to our house.

On the other hand, I was thinking could it be possible that we moms are imbued with the guilty of having our own fun here?  lol

Ah, I bet my and Irene's dear hubbies (DHs) would have a lot to say and to share about how to entertain 5 young children since they have done this alone when we two are gone for Vegas last year!! /^O^\

You know, Dads inevitably come in handy whenever we need complimentary babysitters!! Therefore, solute to all the great dads here!!!

The Woman collector department's manager, Justin (the man in the suit), is very friendly in person.  He even personally suggested couple pieces to us by Burberry Prorsum and Marni to try which he thinks they are so ME and Irene. (We will see then~~~)
Those are runway samples by Burberry Prorsum and Marni.

(Left) Rachel: hang on~~

(Middle) Irene: ( not show in the picture here)"How about me?"

(Right) Rachel: There you go!! hhahaha..... (^_−)−☆

(The model wears Moschino gown gorgeously!!)

Those are several Burberry Prorsum runway looks. (pic. source:

This is the one I tried on and felt in love w/... my curve!! :P
Oh, no,.... I mean the stretchable linen made the body-hugging look so utterly sexy!!
I think it is a very understated piece but effortlessly stylish.

I insisted Justin on ordering me another one size down..... Very picky I am!! ^^
(*BTW, Nordstrom has the lowest MSRP for this particular dress even after tax when I searched it online.)

Goodies from Jo Malone and Le Mar~

Pascal (Rapunzel's pet now is mine) and the goodies~~ ^O^

On me: Thakoon fringe cross dress, Peter Som Mongolia fur, Pierre Hardy platform sandals, Proenza Shouler PS1 yellow clutch.
on Irene: Max n' Co. bow dress, Spanx dots tights,Chanel Camellia WoC.
(Sorry Justin, I can't label your suit but I want to tell you that I adore your polka dots scarf. ^^)

Irene and I start playing dressing-up after the event. See how cool it is when I put on those adds-on shoulder feather and necklace on Irene!! (Great accessories, btw.)

I ended up buying that $12 teal round lens sunglasses... for fun!

All the SA persons are very nice and helpful when we were there trying out pieces at Nordstrom.  And big thanks to them who took pictures for us that I'd be able to look saucy and blog about it here!!

We two had a great time at Nordstrom styling event and We definitely are going back next week to try our new pieces and to see Justin again. ^O^

Have you tried new 2011 clothes just for fun yet?
xoxo Rachel
