Places to dine at London!!!

1).Traditional English food: "The Rules"  ( Oldest restaurant in London) : traditional english food.... like kidney pies and such :) reservations needed!

2). Breakfast at LONDON, check out "Le Pain Quotidien". One at Kings Road and Kensington High Street.

3).French ( Great for a snazzy lunch) : "La Petit Maison" in Mayfair ....... reservation is needed.

4).Best Fish and Chips ( Good for lunch): "The Rock & Sole Plaice" in Covent Garden ..... u might have to wait if you go during lunch rush hour, best to go early or a little after lunch hour... coz it's popular...

5a). Another good place to have lunch in Harrods is "Mo's Diner" - American style diner.  It is not a typical American diner, but rather very refined and has a nice salad menu.

5b). Koya in Frith Street does really good handmade udon noodles!

6). An Italian restaurant called "Signor Sassi".  Wonderful and rich Italian food!  Natalia Vodianova called it her favorite London restaurant in one of the editions of Russian Vogue. Reservation is a must, especially on weekends.  You can have a nice walk in Hyde Park right after your meal, very convenient.

7). Indian: ( Great for dinner) : "Chor Bizzare" in Mayfair ( in Bond Street area, high style branded shops :)) reservation is recommended as this place is popular.
8).  "Wolseley" restaurant. (located 5 minute walk away from the Green Park station).   They serve breakfast, brunch and dinner.   Love their eggs benedicte!  Reservation is a must, even during the week.

9). "Morelli's Gelato". For a sweet treat of Ice Cream...under 55 degree F in London??... haha... Let's see if we can take it any cooler when we are in London!

10). "Laduree" - best macaroons in the world!  They have 2 branches:  a tiny store inside the Burlington Arcade (at Green Park), and a wonderful Laduree tea room inside Harrods.  If you have time, check out the stores in Burlington Arcade, very traditional and very British, lots of beautiful and expensive vintage jewelry.

11). "Rasa Sayang" ( Singaporean restaurant) in Chinatown.

12). Last but not the least..... to comfort our home-sick craving of Chinese food : best roast duck in town!! "FOUR SEASONS" , they have a few locations..
http://www.fs-restaurants.co.uk/ or "Gold MINE" according to another one of my fellow reader! (Thank you!)

Thanks to my friend Alice Hadiwibowo and Mona P. who gave me those
invaluable information of restaurants in London  that
now I have a great solution for my whole family......
feed them so I can SHOP TIL' I DROP!! lol.

So you can see that most of places need a reservation. I have to keep that in mind then!

Now I only need to find restaurants for our ITALY trip.... hum..should be easy.. pasta and pizza all the way~~

See you later.

Hello, I've been a silent lurker so far but feel like I need to chip in since I really love food!! Do try Pierre Herme in Selfridges! Would be really good to squeeze in a spot of macarons after some intense shopping ;) Koya in Frith Street does really good handmade udon noodles, and Le Gavroche really has pretty amazing French fare :D Most of Four Seasons (Bayswater branch) staff have moved to Gold Mine, so you might want to try that instead!

Which Italian cities are you visiting! :) So envious! I love Milan but have no time to visit the city again ):

Do take care!
thanks, burgundy girl...I will revise that "to dine" list later on. ^^

Hum... we are going to Rome, Frenze, Milan and Venice (if we successfully take the train in the right direction...haha..)!! I would love Milan but friends suggests that we stay longer in other cities but only tour a big in Milan.. I don't know why!! hum.maybe there is only boutiques to see instead of good VIEW?! What do you think?
That is true! LOL, Milan is more for shopping definitely, but the food there is really good too! :D I'd definitely say you guys need to visit the Duomo (which I'm sure your friends already told you about), and perhaps Castello Sforzesco.

I'd suggest going for a day tour to Lake Como, but am not sure if the weather would allow for it. However, Lake Como is seriously really pretty! YAY, I'm so excited I think I might be more excited than you LOL.
haha, yes, Burgundy girl, it does sound you are already there... Lake Como.

Ok, so I guess I should do most of my shopping in ROme...and maybe just do "window shopping" in Milan then. I should leave this trip as family vacation in spite of a good shopping spree for me then.

Make a Wish w/ Russia Babushka doll!!

My friend, Michelle asked me about my opinion of Chanel Babushka doll's necklace once and I said "Not worth getting it"!! Now I am not so sure if I would say the same thing to this adorable babushka doll clutch!! lol However, even I want to find it, this doll clutch is probably long gone by now!! I have a real Russia Babushka doll made in Russia which is a gift from 10 years ago! I couldn't find the same one in USA since this set of 15 nesting dolls are truly intricate!! This is the biggest one which has the most exquisite engraving. Total 15 of them! (2 are missing from the pic.) I heard that you can make a wish w/ these nesting dolls. If your wish comes true, you can open one until all 15 are all open!! I never made any wish w/ them, guess I was too realistic of a person myself. I don't know if each engraved temple/castle on the dolls represents something. You can't open the smallest one which is only the size of the little finger nail. I adore those golde
